Schneider Electric to Exhibit at the Technology Park in London at DatacenterDynamics Converged.
London — United Kingdom , 9th November 2012: Schneider Electric will be displaying its Power and Cooling Facility Module solutions in the Technology Park at DatacenterDynamics Converged 2012. The containerized solutions demonstrate Schneider Electric’s modular, standardised and pay-as-you-grow approach to data centre physical infrastructure, reducing up-front capital budget requirements and lowering ongoing operating expenses.
Facility Modules, which made their EMEA debut at last year’s conference, meet contemporary data centre challenges for Cloud and increasingly high density facilities. In addition to fast deployment, they provide predictable performance, flexibility and scalability, as well as ease of installation and use. Facility Modules are factory engineered utilising standard components rather than custom engineered parts. This reduces product defects as well as overall design and installation time and onsite services. The Modules are housed in purpose-built enclosures with structural frames. They have pre-programmed software and fully integrated management systems.
Connected to the Facility Modules as part of the display, Schneider Electric will be showing its APC InfraStruxure with Hot Aisle Containment System (HACS). This system addresses high density and high efficiency data centre applications and consists of a row-based containment system together with in-row cooling equipment. Designed to be used in new builds as well as to be retrofitted as a high density zone in existing facilities, HACS maximises cooling efficiency and predictability, eliminating the risk of hot spots.
Aisle containment prevents the mixing of hot and cold air streams by sealing the hot aisle using doors and transparent roof tiles. The segregation of supply and return air paths makes for better air distribution and cooling system efficiency. It enables the warmest possible air to be returned to the air conditioning units, increasing their efficiency of operation. Built from a modular kit of parts, the system is scalable to future expansion requirements. It can also be retro-fitted to an existing data centre to facilitate a high density area which is also room neutral.
Schneider Electric will be using it’s booth in the DatacenterDynamics Converged 2012 expo to demonstrate its leading StruxureWare for Data Centers DCIM software. Designed to collect and manage data about data centre assets, resource use and operation status throughout facility’s lifecycle. Information collected by StruxureWare for Data Centers is then distributed, integrated, and applied in ways that can help managers optimise data centre performance to meet IT, business and service oriented goals.
