28th March 2013 - Mint Driving School, a leading company of professional Driving Instructors providing driving lessons throughout Derby, Nottingham, Chesterfield and Burton upon Trent, provides some practical advice towards reducing global road statistics.
This month, the World Health Organisation released shocking figures revealing that more than 1.2 million people are killed on the roads each year, with over three quarters being male, and in addition, some 20 million people are injured. This makes road accidents the eighth leading cause of death globally, a figure on a par with malaria, and unless action is taken, this could rise to fifth by 2030.
Although road traffic accidents are on the rise globally, especially across low and middle-income countries of 1-2% of economic output, the UK is lucky to be amongst just six countries that are seeing a steady decline in road deaths, amongst which are also Australia, Canada, France, the Netherlands and Sweden.
The Director of Mint Driving School a Derby Driving School, comprising Derby Driving Instructors providing driving lessons across Derby, Nottingham, Chesterfield and Burton upon Trent, Jon Hodgkinson, explains why the UK seems to be bucking the global trend: “Thankfully, Driving Instructors in the UK have to sit rigorous tests to reach stringent DSA standards. Although the UK is a densely populated country, a culture of professional driver training and a robust law enforcement system means that road traffic accidents are on the decline”. Mr Hodgkinson added; “There is a lot to be said for the sensibilities instilled during one’s driving lessons and choosing driving lessons through the right driving school with driving instructors who build a good rapport with their students, which in turn enables them to provide a very tailored approach to safe driving lessons, is very important”.
Mint Driving School states that those wishing to continue the trend towards a safer UK road system should research potential driving schools across Derby, Nottingham, Chesterfield and Burton upon Trent, looking into pass rates, word of mouth recommendations and by speaking to driving instructors to find out what sets them apart from their competition.
Mint Driving School has been successfully contributing towards the UK’s increasingly safer roads for a number of years. As a high pass-rate organisation, Mint driving instructors are encouraged to develop their road knowledge and teaching skills in-line with industry best practice and they provide some of the highest levels of driving lessons across Nottingham, Derby, Chesterfield and Burton upon Trent.
