31, December 2014: Travellers with an interest in exotic wildlife species will be excited to hear that top wildlife specialist tour company Naturetrek has developed six new tours to be offered in different parts of the world. Considerable numbers of nature enthusiasts are expected to sign up for these exciting organised tours throughout 2015, with the opportunity to explore a magnificent variety of habitats and view intriguing species.
Tour Magnificent Madagascar
Those travellers who embark on Naturetrek’s action packed 12-day tour of Madagascar, for example, will undoubtedly be captivated by the extremely rich and diverse island landscape. They may be lucky enough to spot endangered species such as the Giant Jumping Rat and the Malagasy Mongoose, as well as the predatory Fosa of Madagascar. Wildlife experts say sightings of the long-tailed Fosa provoke the greatest excitement amongst nature lovers; these extremely agile, cat-like creatures prey upon Lemurs deep in the murky Madagascan forests.
Other Destinations
As well as popular tours to Madagascar, the highly knowledgeable Naturetrek guides lead tours in a huge range of other fascinating destinations — such as to the great heights of Ladakh in North-west India and the magnificent Spanish mountain range of Sierra de Guadarrama. Wildlife enthusiasts can enjoy sightings of highly sought-after species like the Marmot, Himalayan Griffon and Spanish Ibex in such destinations.
Nature lovers may also be interested in wildlife tours of Sweden and Switzerland, which are also offered by Naturetrek. Time is spent observing and identifying butterfly species during three specialised itineraries. The Clouded Apollo and Poplar Admiral are just a couple of the species to look out for along the trails of places like Sweden and Armenia. (10% of the fee paid by each traveller will be contributed towards Butterfly Conservation.)
Naturetrek’s excellent tours are scheduled throughout the year, with durations of between six and fifteen days. While prices vary, flights, meals and expert guides are all included as part of the Naturetrek packages. Further information is available from the company’s website.
