Forms can be downloaded and printed any time. That’s another part the author says helps taxpayers because the W2 is much harder to lose. Ellis also urges taxpayers to check their information is accurate before printing the form and using it to file this season’s taxes.
Also emphasized is the importance of correcting inaccurate information. People will have to contact their employer to fix the issue and it’s important an employer sends the W2 so it is filed with the IRS. Another thing is eligibility. Some employers don’t offer the form online so taxpayers need to be sure they have the online option.
