Delhi International School, Rohini hosted kids from the Little Planet Preschool and gave them a glimpse of the school life that awaits them once they finish their pre-school
New Delhi, March 30, 2015: Delhi International School (DIS), Rohini, one of the leading schools in the Delhi NCR region, was recently visited by kids from Little Planet, a preschool based at Prashant Vihar. The objective of the activity was to give the Little Planet kids a glimpse of life in a formal school and how exciting it could be to be at DIS Rohini. The teachers of DIS Rohini did role-plays to get the Little Planet kids interested and inform them of what they would experience in the days to come.
According to Mr. Rajat Goel, Chairman, DIS Rohini, “We do such activities with preschools in the vicinity so that the kids get to know not just about our school but a formal school in general. The idea is to make school life sound as interesting as possible such that they look forward to it. I appreciate Little Planet Preschool management for undertaking such an initiative with us. Besides Little Planet, we welcome all other preschools in the vicinity who’d want to organize such an activity with us.”
Ms. Priyanka Barara, Head of School, greeted kids from little planet Preschool and appreciated the initiative that teachers took to make them feel at home. It was an activity that wasn’t just a pleasure to watch but also educated the kids about healthy eating habits. “Little children are impressionable, they are very receptive to what they see around them. It is our duty to make them love their school life and weed out any fear that they may have, whatsoever, of what lies ahead,” she said. “They should be oriented or acclimatized for a structural setup. Having seen one beforehand always helps. Moving from a familiar warm environment to a bigger one, one that has a large playground and kids much elder than them should not come as an absolute surprise for them,” she added.
“Inviting preschools has helped in terms of making DIS Rohini the first choice for parents when it comes to admissions,” says Mr. Rohit Gupta, Administrator, DIS Rohini.
