Dr Birkbeck's goal was for Londoners to get part-time access to a university education. Almost 200 years later, that goal is still at the heart of the institution's mission.

Birkbeck forms a valuable learning centre for those that live and work in London. It also receives acclaim from others parts of the UK and the world at large. Birkbeck gives people the chance to further their education and succeed in life.

Birkbeck continues to meet the changing needs of today's students. It offers a plethora of flexible, part-time afternoon and evening courses in many subjects.
