Cambridge, UK, 21, April 2016: Clinked, an online file sharing, team collaboration and client portal platform in the cloud, has released a new feature for their software users. The new feature allows Clinked users to assign a password to an external share. This means that guests are able to securely access the chosen file or folder without needing an account by typing in the password set by the Clinked user.

CEO of Clinked Tayfun Bilsel explains why this new feature is so important to users: “Since the files are shared outside of the organisation, it is [the Clinked user’s] responsibility, as the owner, to protect the content of the document. With this new feature, you can enable secure access by sharing password-protected files to your clients or employees. Doing so, it delivers the file safely, and ensures that it can only be access by the right recipient.”

…“[The new feature] would make it more secure to share files and folders with people by just typing an email, without people needing to sign up to the platform. Therefore it is ideal for sharing documents quickly and securely.”

Clinked users also have the option to set an expiration date for the link shared so the document becomes inaccessible after a period of time.
