Tampa Bay, FL — Shaina Ortiz, the CEO and Founder of both Device Savers, a full-service electronics repair, and technology support company, as well as Legion Drones, an all-inclusive drone based repair, distribution, and education entity. Shaina is carving out an avant-garde name for herself as both the first women and minority business owner heading up an all-encompassing drones-based business.
Today’s drone business closely mirrors the tech world in many ways—containing, inopportunely, the lack of women. While no group tracks the gender breakdown of the industry, a peep at the executive teams of the top companies tells a pretty clear story: All six top execs at Vires Aeronautics and 3D Robotics are men, while Skycatch and PrecisionHawk each have one woman on their executive teams.
Still, the industry does have its female game changers who are creating the vision of the drone industry and Shaina is one of them.
Committed to tearing down boundaries that typically hold female entrepreneurs and minority entrepreneurs back from achieving their true potential, Ortiz has refused to be set back by any obstacle working against her and her much-earned success.
“People don’t typically think women are electronically-oriented or interested in the expanding aerospace industry with the launch of drones,” said Ortiz. But I grew up in a generation of female gamers, fixers, and thinkers we just all need to find each other. After recently launching my Legion Drones entity, I am incredibly excited to announce it will be moving into a larger and more productive space this March to accommodate for our growing clientele.”
Ortiz’s nationally recognized repair center, Device Savers, already provides drone repairs, drone products, so opening a full-service drone repair and training company only seemed liked the next step. Legion Drones will be able to offer all the drone services that Device Savers currently does plus, visual products, accessories, full-service forum for information exchange, a blog, pilot training, part 107 training, drone pilot training, business and executive services, and round the clock product support for every kind of question and inquiry.
“The potential for the drone industry is so enormous, we can’t even wrap our brains around it,” said Ortiz. “But, what we can do is devote our time to studying the industry developments, announcements, and improvements, and make sure we educate our staff, students, and Tampa Bay community to the best of our ability so they too, understand what role these drones will play in our life. Drones are infiltrating every industry as we speak, and we want to be part of the innovation.”
In addition to her Legion Drones venture, Ortiz is also the founder and CEO of Device Savers, another Tampa-based electronics repair and technology support company.
Equipped to provide full-service assessment and same-day repairs for clients with urgent fixes, Device Savers provides only quality support and tech products for any walk-in client or reoccurring customer, business, or school. Device Savers is currently rated the highest in their area for quality repairs and customer support, both on Yelp and Goggle. Dedication to detail and focus is what it takes Device Savers has made a name for itself as one of the go-to electronics hubs in Tampa.
“Women can do absolutely anything we set our minds to, and my passion happens to be for technological innovation and drone repair operations, and development,” said Ortiz. “I hope my strides and commitments have motivated other women out there to score high in this industry, or better yet fly high. I know there are countless females out there right now, breaking down walls and mastering the art of drone piloting, racing, repair, service, training — and I am incredibly honored to be among the likes of such inspirational women.”
Legion Drones bigger retail location will officially open March 20, 2017. The new store will be hosting Pilot Part 107 Courses, Flight Training for beginners, community classes about drones, law enforcement seminars, hire-a-certified pilot programs, and unmanned aerial solutions, in addition to the traditional repairs they have already been providing.
