Robert Nowlin started Rising Kale Farms as a project in sustainability. Currently, the farm raises free-range, cage free, organic chicken, duck, and quail for their eggs. These eggs are distributed to families in need. Rising Kale Farms continues to expand its reach and spread awareness through the local farmer’s market scene.
However, Rising Kale Farms wants to do more than just bring awareness to the obvious concerns regarding the lack of nutritious food to the disadvantaged families and children in the community. By growing and raising vegetables in an agriculturally controlled environment, such as a high tunnel greenhouse, Rising Kale Farms can provide nutritious, wholesome food for those families in need on a consistent basis.
One hundred percent of all donations will go toward building the structure to grow food needed to feed families. No donated funding will go toward administrative costs or salaries. Any additional funding beyond the target goal will go directly toward the purchase of seeds, supplies, manpower, and improvements on the infrastructure related to the future of growing healthy food.
