29, June 2015: Benckiser Roth, a leading commodity markets broker and provider of post trade risk mitigation and information services, has opened a new company headquartered in Tokyo.
“Our group has offices throughout Asia Pacific Region, but the importance of Japan to our global markets makes the opening of a new Tokyo-based business an event of particular strategic importance to us,” said Richard Man-kuen, CEO for Benckiser Roth.
The company, created to develop business across Japan, will be led by industry veteran Jon Ching as President and Elisabeth Goon as COO.
Mary Satomi and Marion Tam Masuda have joined the company with an experienced team to secure positions in the Japan oil sector, a territory long dominated by rivals.
As a first step Benckiser Roth has already concluded its first large oil export deal in Japan which according to Mr. Richard Man-kuen: “Is a good start of what should be a long-term and rewarding relationship for both companies.”
Hiroko Kasahara will continue to head the metal and coal trading division which will be strengthened to develop deeper relationships with the producers.
