Major British periodical The Telegraph has recently published an article in the Travel section of their website detailing a number of ski-holiday offers currently available from the top Alpine chalet operators, such as Ski Amis.

The piece comes at a time when the UK is experiencing an unseasonal bout of warm weather, which may have taken many holidaymakers’ minds away from a ski holiday and towards warmer options. However, according to the staff writer in charge of the feature, these destinations should not be written off entirely, as March in the Alps still provides excellent skiing conditions and might even yield a few special offers from some of its accommodation providers – among which well-known company Ski Amis is included.

The fact that the Easter break has been pushed back by many UK schools this year is further reason to keep an eye on these ski deals, the writer in charge of the article considers. The further away from the ‘peak’ ski season the holiday is booked, the higher the chance prospective Alpine skiers will have of getting their holiday at a discounted rate, with savings of as much as 50% not being at all uncommon in the last few months of snow. This year, because of the fall in demand caused by late Easter holidays, the deals are even better, which is why the periodical advises skiers to profit from the opportunity to have a more affordable holiday.

Still, according to the writer, it is unadvisable to go in ‘blind’. While most Alpine resorts should still offer agreeable snowfalls and skiing conditions, this is not a given; prospective holidaymakers are therefore advised to check the conditions of the area they are planning to book a break in prior to making their decision. Similarly, skiers are advised to ‘aim high’, and book a stay at the highest altitude resort available, in order to maximise their challenge and subsequent enjoyment.

Even after the snow has melted, the catered chalets offered by companies such as Ski Amis are still popular, as skiers give way to mountain bikers and ramblers on the inviting Alpine slopes. Therefore, even those less interested in snow holidays should keep an eye out for potential bargains in the area.
