Orlando, FL— March 22, 2016 — Curcumin is one of the most therapeutic natural alternatives nowadays. This healing ingredient can be found in an ancient, medicinal spice called turmeric. People who are suffering from inflammation-related conditions may consider incorporating the spice into their diet.
Curcumin is a potential natural remedy for reducing inflammation among individuals with heart disease. This natural ingredient is also believed to be beneficial for people who are following a heart-healthy diet to reduce their risk of heart disease.
“Curcumin contains healing ingredients with antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, and antioxidant properties,” said VitaBreeze Supplements spokesperson, Michelle O’Sullivan.
Inflammation is believed to increase one’s risk of developing a range of conditions, including joint pain and heart disease. There have been scientific studies that supported the therapeutic benefits associated with the use of curcumin supplements. In a clinical trial that lasted for eight weeks, it was found that curcumin significantly helped reduce the signs of inflammation, including blood markers such as C-reactive protein.
According to the study's senior author Amirhossein Sahebkar from the Mashhad University of Medical Sciences in Iran, the strong anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties of curcumin are believed to be responsible for its therapeutic benefits. The study researchers aimed at determining whether curcumin could help reduce inflammation among individuals with metabolic syndrome, which is a risk factor of heart disease.
Some of the factors that make up metabolic syndrome are high blood sugar, high blood pressure, a large waistline, high levels of triglycerides, and low levels of good cholesterol. According to experts, individuals who have three or more of these traits are more likely to develop diabetes or heart disease, or both.
It was found that curcumin helped improve blood sugar levels. The researchers revealed that those who took curcumin experienced an improvement in blood levels and a reduction in fasting blood sugar. The team of researchers also analyzed data from former studies and validated that curcumin successfully reduced the CRP concentration of the 281 participants. The Iran National Science and The Clinical Trial Research Centre funded the study.
Today, individuals who want to incorporate curcumin in their diet may use turmeric powder. Turmeric can be a great addition to a range of dishes and beverages. Individuals who want to obtain the therapeutic properties of curcumin and do not want to add turmeric in their beverage or dish may use curcumin supplements.
While curcumin is believed to be highly therapeutic, it has low bioavailability. This means that its absorption inside the body is limited. Curcumin with bioavailability enhancing ingredients, such as a black pepper extract called BioPerine, is highly recommended nowadays (http://www.amazon.com/Turmeric-Curcumin-Complex-BioPerine-Bio-availability/dp/B00JA4TLTI/).
