13, June 2016: Indian Teacher Education Company EDIMPACT is now bringing Solar Digital Tablets to Rural Schools in India to promote digital education in electricity deprived village schools.

CEO of the company Mr. Sanwill Srivastava told that the company has signed an agreement with a Chinese Company to produce these tablets. These tablets will be equipped with a solar panel charger, and will operate off the grid in schools that do not have access to electricity or an internet connection.

Mr. Sanwill Srivastava also told that they are also in talks with authorities for providing the schools with OUTERNET Kit to access internet in these areas free of cost .

Each tablet will be loaded with thousands of educational resources, including Wikipedia, Khan Academy math and science lectures, e-books, medical encyclopedias, as well as local, open source Hindi content.

These 10 inch digtal tablet devices will be powered by 1.2 GHz processor, 512 MB RAM and 4 GB internal memory expandable to 32 GB.

These tablets will be given free to 100 teachers across the states of Jharkhand and Bihar in India in first pilot phase to gauge the impact before being launched in a full fledged manner.
