The eclectic group of artists featured on the album is what allows “Dusty King James” to capture the true classical spirit, while providing a modern sound. Musicians from around the world come together to give listeners a diverse look at blues roots, which makes the release a noteworthy addition to the Full Armor catalog.
Kaiser lends his unique brand of blues and provides a modern version of the Robert Johnson classic “Crossroads” as well as “Since I Laid My Burdens Down”. The title track “Dusty King James” as well as the song “Still Got Time” is performed by uplifting soul artist Mark Bush, who is described by Full Armor Productions as “an artist on a mission to reach lost souls through his lyrics and inspirational message”
Mudcat, a blues band from Georgia performs a revival of the classic blues ballad “I Want To Be Ready”, while English blues artist Maz Mitrenko gives a rockabilly edge to the classic gospel song “The River”. Russell Gully contributes his version of “John The Revelator” as well as an original track called “No Holds Barred”. His unique blend of Bayou-style vocals and barebones instrumental approach is one of the highlights of the album and creates the perfect blend of old and new.
Lastly, Southern rock veterans Larry Howard and Johnny Neel provide their unique brand of blues and gospel with the tracks “Real Miracle Man”, the Woody Guthrie classic “This Train” and an original song by Neel called “Maybe Jesus”. “Dusty King James” is available on Spotify, CD Baby, iTunes, Amazon, and other online music outlets.
