Workwear Express, based in Durham, has had a continual and dramatic rise since starting to trade 20 years ago when Managing Director Andrew Ward, aged just 17, bought an old van and travelled all over the UK selling workwear and leisurewear.
Today they attract high profile clients such as Mitie, The X Factor, LG Electronics, ITV, Nissan, Budwiser and Tesco. With recent additional expansion and investment they are hoping to bring more large contracts to the North East.
Further investment has been made in state-of-the-art machinery to keep ahead of the competition with two new eight head embroidery machines added to the current fleet of over sixty and they aim to have over one hundred by this time next year.
Workwear Express has also recently purchased the adjoining premises, which increases floor space to over 20,000 sq ft. The extra space will enable them to increase production and warehouse space as they continue to grow throughout 2011.
