21, September 2015: Critically acclaimed author Chase Maenius and Underground Media Publishing harness the power of art to give back to those in need with their newly released art book - The Power of an Image, Art Through the Eyes of Contemporary Artists. The endeavor is part of the publishing group’s get art + give hope program where with every purchase, the group donates school and art supplies to a child in need.
The Power of an Image is Underground Media Publishing Group’s most recent release on the visual arts; it approaches the theme of the power of art through the perspective of the artist. Maenius states in the introduction “this is a book about images and artists that are playing a part in defining and reflecting the aesthetic world today. It presents views from the perspective of eleven pioneering artists that have emerged from art cultures around the world, communicating how they perceive the power of an image and where it fits within the context of contemporary culture. This book not only showcases the outlook, creation and genius of these artists - it transcends the everyday art experience of a museum visit. It offers insight into what goes on inside the minds of these vibrant and insightful individuals, and what they have to say can expand our knowledge and understanding of the world in which we live."
The Power of an Image is national best-selling author Chase Maenius’ third publication on the arts and his first work featuring contemporary artists. Maenius states that he was “energized by the opportunity to work with such incredible artists on The Power of an Image; as well as the chance to give back to those in need through [Underground Media’s] get art, give hope initiative.” According to their website, the publisher’s philanthropic get art + give hope program “harnesses the power of art to help those in need. With every purchase of The Power of an Image, Underground Media donates school and art supplies to a child in need."
