So, what are polarized lenses and what are the benefits?  Polarized lenses have a special coating applied to reduce the glare from reflective surfaces such as water and snow.  They are also popular for driving due to the reduce in glare from a long flat surface such as a road or the car bonnet — although some people find that it can make it more difficult to read the LCD displays in their car so still opt for non-polarized.
