North Miami, FL; 19, May 2015: Pickups for Breast Cancer, a South Florida based breast cancer awareness non-profit organization, announced their ‘Spring Cleaning Clothing Donation’ initiative. They are urging the public to get their spring cleaning done with a more charitable flair by helping a good cause raise valuable resources for breast cancer advocacy, education, and research. Pickupsforbreastcancer.org is a direct service of the Florida Breast Cancer Foundation [or simply FBCF].
Why Donate for the Cause?
As a government regulated and fully recognized 501(c)(3) charitable organization, the Florida Breast Cancer Foundation is authorized by the IRS to issue official tax deduction receipts for donations. Donors can use these receipts to receive savings on their tax returns.
Additional to the tax benefits, donating gently used clothes and household items provides income to the FBCF. The funds are used to support the FBCF’s main three goals: Advocacy, which focuses on legislation, Education, that fosters training opportunities, academic grants and information through spreading informational news articles of interest, and lastly but most important, Research of cancer through its number of partnerships in the field.
For every donation made, valuable funds are generated for all three segments. The current Spring Cleaning Drive will accept all donations including clothing, shoes, clothing accessories, bric-a-brac, beddings, furniture, mattresses, antiques and collectibles, toys, jewelry, paintings and electronics. The center for breast cancer donation in South Florida currently offers pickup services in the entire South Florida Tri-County area from Palm Beach County, Broward County and down to Miami-Dade County. Donations beyond the Spring-related event are always accepted by scheduling pickups in your chosen area. Pickups for Breast Cancer has a user-friendly, online pickup scheduler that lets donors input their postal zip code to determine pickup date options. They also have telephone representatives ready to assist in scheduling.
Additionally this pickup service offers a great value to our environment by recycling tons of items that would otherwise end up in landfills.
Other Involvement:
There are also other ways to get involved in helping the cause even if you can’t donate anything at the moment. There are numerous educational and advocacy events that are regularly updated by FBCF itself such as advocacy days, fundraisers, and the Annual Paddle for a Cure.
The Florida Breast Cancer Foundation is always on the lookout for eager and talented volunteers to join their team. Due to the immense popularity and wide audience reach of social media, they also have social channels using Twitter and Facebook through which they give followers updates about upcoming events and important announcements.
