Oakland, California; 30, October 2014: Hailing from Oakland, California, Lunacie breaks modern hip hop conventions with his amazing vitality and eclectic arrangements. Lunacie draws from a wide array of genres and musical influences including Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson, Nate Dogg, Queen, Bizzy Bone, Devin The Dude, Thelonious Monk, DJ Quik, and Brotha Lynch Hung. Growing up, Lunacie learned to play numerous instruments including drums, saxophone, piano, organ, congas, and kalimbas, and as an avid churchgoer, was heavily influenced by gospel music. His diverse musical background is evident in his unique hip hop arrangements, which are anything but conventional.
In addition to being interested in various instruments, Lunacie used writing and poetry as a creative outlet, which now serves as the source of his lyrical ability. Frustrated by the quality of music being played on the radio, he sought to revolutionize the hip hop genre and breathe life into the music industry. After being featured on the Underground Disciples Vol. 1 compilation released by the Empirical Music Company in 2005, Lunacie became a producer for many bay area artists and performing with big hitters in the rap industry including Mystikal, Rick Ross, Webbie, Trina, and Mike Jones. The music of Lunacie has also been compared to Tech N9ne, Eminem, J Cole, Canibus, Busta Rhymes, Mos Def, 2pac, and T-Pain.
His debut album, “The Best” due for release early 2015 on the Five Star Music Group label, will feature brand new original content by Lunacie. The album is designed with one thing in mind: to make listeners move. Hip hop fans can also expect the single “My Chic Better” to be made available in late October. Intelligent lyrics backed by original beats act as staples for Lunacie’s unique brand of unapologetic hip hop, which isn’t afraid to address reality. The epitome of a DIY artist, Lunacie engineered the entire album during the recording process, and also designed the album art. His artistic ability has allowed him to mastermind the entire release from start to finish, something that few artists can claim.
For Lunacie, “The Best” is still the beginning of his journey to usher in a new hip hop era focused on creativity and originality. Following the release of his album, he plans to travel and spread his name far and wide, all while gauging the response of listeners. Believing that each track and live performance is a product of Lunacie as a person, he hopes that his music will reach listeners on a personal level and change the way they view the entire music industry.
